What are varicose veins
Varicose vein disease (also known as varicosis) manifests itself through enlargement of the superficial veins and weakness of the venous valves.
Spider veins represent the mildest form of these changes. They are a frequent cosmetic problem for women and men of all ages, regardless of body weight and height. Spider veins are the smallest vessels in and directly beneath the skin, visible as fine red or blue lines.
How do they develop
The pathological enlargement of the veins is often based on connective tissue weakness and circulatory disorders.
