What are moles
Moles (nevi) are benign new growths of skin cells and are often congenital. They can vary greatly in shape, colour and size.
How do they develop
They are often genetically determined and represent a predisposition of the skin. Excessive sun exposure can affect moles and lead to the development of skin cancer.
What can we do about them
First, we examine the mole very closely with the help of a dermatoscope and computer-assisted dermatoscopy and make the appropriate diagnosis (see also Skin Tumours).
